Homework

Homework is given as a continuation of what has been taught in class.  It is intended to extend concepts, help teach responsibility, and time management.  Homework is assigned every night Monday-Thursday, sometimes Fridays.  It is due the next day.
Homework should take your child approximately 40 minutes each night.  When projects and/or tests are approaching, time spent on homework may slightly increase.  Your child may come in for help before school (8:15 a.m.).  If your child needs help, forgot their homework, etc., they may email me at Kathryn.kramer@dcsdk12.org to let me know that they will be coming in early.  I do need to know in advance to ensure that I am in the classroom.  Students should not be in the classroom alone due to safety.

Your child will be responsible for reading every night.  I encourage students to read a variety of genres/texts.  Have fun and enjoy!

When your child is absent, he/she will have one day to make up work for every day absent.  If going on a vacation, please let me know so we can touch base regarding class work.
